It is actually a particular part of theHauraki Gulf
coast, and takes about ten minutes to reach by car from North Shore
City. The most northern part of the Auckland metropolis is located here.
It is estimated that some 28,000 people populate the Hibiscus
Coast presently, and this includes those residing in the areas of Silverdale, Orewa, and Whangaparaoa.
There are many attractions and activities located in this area,
including sunny beaches, coastline, Snow Planet, Go-Kart Centre, Silverdale
Luge, the Pacific Plaza, Shakespeare Regional Park, and Gulf Harbour.
There are a variety of great beaches and motels to accommodate
guests in the area, which is why the Hibiscus Coast is known as a favorite vacation spot. Nearby Orewa is also a
great spot for tourists, and is equally as popular.
The Hibiscus coast is made up of many small commercial and
suburban areas. Some of these areas are Stanmore Bay, Army Bay, Arkles Bay, Big Manly, Little Manly, Gulf Harbour,
Stillwater, and Silverdale. The main town, however, is still Orewa.
